Carolyn O’Brien

Carolyn O’Brien assists the fee-earning team in all aspects of know-how, including the development, upkeep and management of precedents, delivery of training and advice on compliance issues.

Carolyn has over twenty years ‘ legal experience. She qualified at Addleshaw Sons & Latham (later Addleshaw Goddard) in Manchester and subsequently worked as an associate in DLA Piper’s Real Estate department, dealing with a range of commercial property matters, in particular investment acquisitions/disposals and development work for landlord clients.

More recently Carolyn has worked in knowledge management and legal education, first as a property PSL with DLA Piper and latterly as a lecturer delivering GDL, LPC and CPD courses. She particularly enjoyed preparing a course on the development of the law relating to easements and covenants.

She also spent two years as commercial in-house counsel for a leading fuel management company.

Outside of work, Carolyn enjoys spending time with her family and pursuing her interest in fiction-writing. She’s had several short stories published in anthologies and hopes to publish her first historical novel in 2019.
