Hans Scheiwiller

Hans is a property lawyer with over 30 years experience. He joined Land Law in May 2013 from DLA Piper in Manchester where he had worked for 25 years and was a partner for 18 years.

Hans has acted for a wide range of property owners, principally developers and funds, and has been involved in some of the highest profile property developments in the North West throughout his career.

In addition to his transactional experience, Hans is a specialist property finance lawyer and is highly respected by property lenders and borrowers alike. His particular expertise is to get inside a property finance transaction and to advise on both the real estate and the financial aspects.

Hans regularly advises lenders and borrowers on all aspects of property finance including loan and security documents, intercreditor agreements, hedging arrangements, property due diligence and development documentation. He also has substantial experience in the funding of urban redevelopment projects including public sector grant funding.

Hans is familiar with all forms of property finance documents including the LMA syndicated forms of loan agreement.
He is described in Legal 500 as knowledgeable and commercial.

Outside of work, Hans has a varied range of interests including walking up mountains in summer and skiing down them in winter, classic car mechanics and restoration, horology, food & wine and antiques.
