Peter Barber

Peter has many years of experience acting for clients on all aspects of commercial property work, specialising in commercial property investment, development and management work.

Legal 500 has previously described Peter as consistent and diligent, popular with clients and comments that he is praised by clients for his response times and business knowledge.

He advises a large range of clients including substantial land owning companies, investors, developers and individuals. The areas in which he has considerable expertise include commercial property development, acquisitions (including site assembly) and disposals, landlord and tenant matters, investment and portfolio management.

Peter has acted for a number of major property companies and his work has included the acquisition, management and disposal of shopping centres, retail parks and office blocks, development projects and commercial property portfolio sales and acquisitions.

Peter also has gained significant experience in the retail sector whilst acting for a major supermarket in acquiring and developing property for new stores.

He also has experience in the education sector having acted on behalf of schools, further education institutions and higher education institutions. He has been the lead property lawyer acting on behalf of a University in relation to new acquisitions, disposals and the estate management of the University's extensive leasehold and freehold property portfolio.

In addition to providing advice on legal issues, Peter works with clients to discuss and provide advice on strategy and commercial issues in relation to property transactions and management.

Away from work, Peter has a variety of interests including golf, cricket, football, circuit training and cycling. Peter also enjoys theatre, walking in the countryside and music.
